VitreOS is a surgical case logging app for ophthalmology fellows, faculty, and training programs (web and mobile). This page explains how to ask us to delete your VitreOS account and the data tied to it. You do not need the app installed to make a request.
Option 1: In the iOS or Android app.
Option 2: On the web.
Option 3: By email. If you cannot sign in, email support@vitreos.org from the address registered to your account with the subject "Account deletion request". We may ask you to confirm your identity before acting on the request. You can also use our contact page.
An administrator reviews your request, may confirm your identity, and follows up with you by email. You can see its status (Received, In progress, Completed, or Declined) under Privacy & your data while signed in. Your account stays active until the request is actioned. Once your identity is verified, deletion is completed within 30 days.
Deleted: your account and sign-in, your profile, the surgical case logs and other log entries you entered, your feedback and support messages, notification settings, push tokens and device records, announcement views, and game scores.
May be kept: copies in backups, which are purged within 90 days; aggregated, de-identified statistics that cannot identify you; and anything we must keep to meet a legal obligation or resolve a dispute. Case logs can form part of a training record, so your program or institution may have its own retention requirements; where such obligations apply we will tell you what was kept and why.
Data held by our service providers (Supabase, Vercel, Resend, and the push services) is removed as described in the Privacy Policy (sections 6 and 8).
Before deleting, you can request an export of your data from the same Privacy & your data screen.
